I Shall Not Want

In the spirit of variety here at the blog we bring you a prayer in the form of a song. The song comes from a CD titled “Fortunate Fall” and is one you may not hear on “popular” Christian radio stations but is receiving much critical acclaim. The artist is Audrey Assad of “Lord I Need You” (which we sing here at Grace) and, yes, this song will appeal more to pink than blue, but enjoy and be blessed. (This is a piano only version only while the CD version has full accompaniment)

Here are the lyrics:

From the love of my own comfort
From the fear of having nothing
From a life of worldly passions
Deliver me O God

From the need to be understood
From the need to be accepted
From the fear of being lonely
Deliver me O God
Deliver me O God

And I shall not want, I shall not want
when I taste Your goodness I shall not want
when I taste Your goodness I shall not want

From the fear of serving others
From the fear of death or trial
From the fear of humility
Deliver me O God
Deliver me O God
