Day 3 (Monday) brought a full day of ministry. Teaching, hard labor, and a Marriage Conference! The ladies on the team headed over bright (foggy) and early with Miss Kari to help in her classroom and other classrooms for the day Monday. Read Across America (something our ladies developed for the week), Bible lessons, correcting papers, assisting other teachers were all in the mix for Monday.
The guys ventured out to the desert mountains outside of Lima to a childrens home called Oasis. This home provides day care and homework help for needy children in a town called Manchay. Our job was to do whatever they needed done. And what did they need done? They needed rocks and earth moved to build a ramp to be compliant with code (I quite frankly surprised they even have codes in a place like this!). Pic axes, shovels and a wheelbarrow was the equipment handed to us. And through much pain and sweat we worked for several hours.
From there the guys returned to the city to join the ladies for dinner and then the Marriage Conference. Our best estimate is about 300 came! The venue was absolutely beautiful (picture a really nice, massive, wedding reception tent) and the evening was God anointed as the Peruvians embraced “Pink & Blue” and biblical teaching!
Here are the pictures from day 3.
