The Tree of Giving Thanks

We take Christmas pretty serious here at Grace (many posts to come highlighting just that!). But we take pausing to give thanks just as serious. I don’t know about you but I can identify with the following:

There is some theology in there…somewhere. Anyway, we do not as God’s people want to rush past Thanksgiving just to get to Christmas. We know according to 1Thessalonians 5:18 that the will of God for us is to give thanks. Take full advantage of this time of year to give testimony to the One from whom all blessings flow.

We are seeking to do just that as a church. There is a tree of “Giving Thanks” in our main foyer to help us pause and say thank you to God for something in our lives. We’ve asked people of all ages to write on a leaf something they want to give thanks to God for. As you can see from the picture below the tree is filling out nicely.

So please do not skip giving thanks this year and if you attend here at Grace take a moment and fill out a leaf to add to our tree. I especially like the light colored leaf in the middle of the trunk of the tree that says “My salvation.” Amen! We have so much to be grateful for.
