Greetings From Lisbon!

The Europe Mission Team arrived safely in Lisbon Portugal early Friday morning. The team is spending the first leg of their trip at the Lisbon Training Center (LTC). The facility serves as the resource center for ABWE´s church planting team in the Greater Lisbon area. The LTC houses dorm rooms, a Christian school, seminary classrooms, volunteer staff, and a dining area. The LTC is located atop a hill that overlooks the eastern part of the city of Lisbon. The team is here until Sunday morning then they move about 35 miles northeast of Lisbon and stay in the home of missionaries Jon & Marilyn Rust.

The highlight of Day 1 was chapel services at LTC. Dean Griffith, Syd Dziewa, and Rachael Yuhnke ministered to the elementary students while Josh Griffith, Bree Hurlbut and Pastor Hurlbut ministered to the high school chapel. The students at the Greater Lisbon Christian School come from 9 different nations from all 4 corners of the globe!. What a joy it was for the team to minister to over 50 kids and teens from literally all around the world. Jon & Marilyn Rust then took the team to downtown Lisbon to explore some of the ancient history of Portugal.

Day 2 began with the team doing some manual labor around the campus at the LTC! Day 3 will see the team ministering in 2 church plants on the outskirts of Lisbon.

Pray for continued energy and stamina for the team. Pray as well for God to allow us to be encouragement and blessing to the missionaries in the Lisbon area. Bree either has pink eye or allergies…either way pray for her and that her eyes would clear up!

The slideshow below has photos of the LTC, Bree, Josh and Pastor Hurlbut speaking at Chapel Day 1, work from Day 2 and a few other fun pictures!

  1. Praise God for your safe trip to Lisbon. We will be praying for all of the team members and also that Bree’s eye would heal. Thank you for the updates on Grace Today. Now we know how to pray for you each day as you minister in Portugal and Italy. To God be the glory!

    King James Version (KJV)
20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
