Today concludes our prayer focus for the week. A special thank you to Charissa Tosh for her graphics all week and for discovering the song “Lead Me.”
“And the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Our prayer concept for today is “the word.” Read the following verses, meditate upon them and then follow the prayer prompter.
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12
- Pray for husbands and fathers to be pierced by the word, to be humble in accepting what God has said and willing to live confess whatever the Lord is calling them to confess.
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2Timothy 2:15
- Pray for men who take serious their responsibility to know and understand the Bible, in order to lead their wives and children well.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16
- Pray for husbands and dads who will lead their families in worship, making worship an uncompromising priority for the family.
Our passage this week concludes with “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” Thank you for taking the time to pray this week, to lift up men in our midst that we might see an unmistakable moving of God in their lives. Amen.
