  1. I usually use our blog to “relisten” to Sunday’s sermon for my Monday’s devotions. It’s a great opportunity to relect, mediate, and pray over what God was speaking to me about on Sunday. Instead of just writing this in my personal journal, I thought I’d share this with whoever might look at the comments.
This morning, I was reflecting on the phrase that Pastor used to describe Mary –“She never got over it” “She never got over what Jesus had done for her”.
I reflected on something from my childhood about my Grandmother. My Grandfather had died when I was just about 2 years old. I was told how much he loved me, but I of course, do not remember him. My folks told me that after Grandpa Waldron died, my Grandmother was never the same–“she never really got over it”.
There are many things that can come into our lives that change us forever –we never quite ever get over them. A death of someone we loved dearly, a friend that comes into our lives for a short period of time and then is gone, an illness etc. but something as completly wonderful as being rescued from the very pit of hell we can seem to “get over it” pretty quickly. We can sink back into our old ways of thinking, and buying in to all that the world says is pleasureable.
May I never quite “get over it”. Isaiah 57:15 says, “For thus saith the High and Lofty One that inhabitheth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to rivive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” I am reminded that people who “never get over it” are very special to Him and they receive His very special attention and care.
